Who are we and what do we do?

Since 1986 Telecomp, Inc. has made a positive difference in the non-profit community by providing telephone outreach services for hospitals, colleges, universities, and major cultural arts organizations both locally and nationwide. Some of our many clients include Monroe Community College, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and New York Presbyterian Hospital.

We communicate with many diverse individuals including university alumni, former hospital patients and members of arts organizations. We do so through a method developed over 30 years ago that has been proven over time.

This is where you would play a key role in our success as a company. As a telephone fundraiser, you represent our clients and you will be asking individuals to make a contribution to one of the many organizations we represent.

Telecomp has built a strong reputation with our clients due in large part to the effectiveness of our Telephone Fundraisers and their ability to successfully execute the Telecomp fundraising method.

What kind of person are we looking for?

We are looking for mature and responsible individuals, preferably with some college education or related experience. Our telephone fundraisers must have excellent telephone communication skills, be able to control a telephone conversation in a courteous and relaxed manner, and feel comfortable representing the client and asking for a financial commitment. We represent our clients in a knowledgeable, ethical and professional manner, and therefore our telephone fundraisers are well trained to use an appropriate calling script. Our telephone fundraisers must also be people who listen attentively and are able to think on their feet; always acting in the best interest of the client, while adapting to the needs of a donor.

What are the details of employment?

Telephone fundraisers must choose a minimum of 5 full shifts per week, one of which is on the weekend - no partial shifts are permitted.

Monday - Friday Shifts
9:00am - 12:30am1:00pm - 5:00pm 6:00pm - 10:00pm
 
Saturday - Sunday Shifts
Saturday10:00am - 2:00pm 2:30pm - 6:30pm
Sunday12:30pm - 4:30pm 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Note: Training is part of the selection process. You are not officially hired until you complete New Telephone Fundraiser training. Time spent in training is paid at minimum wage.
